Being debated on T.V right now about whether pub landlords have the right to ban under 21’s as they generally are responsible for the large majority of fights, drunken behaviour, disruptions etc.....(their opinions not mine).
Your thoughts??

You did, YMB. Give yourself a gold star.
the management reserve the right to refuse service, I'd say they are well within their rights.
YMB: "No they cant. For instance they cant refuse to serve Black people." - they can as long as its' a case by case basis. They can't have a blanket policy but if they don't like the look of someone they don't have to serve them.
Landlords banning a group of people who are a big profit driver? Mmmm, let me think about that.
The Equality Act 2010 (Age Exceptions) Order 2012 allows licensed premises to impose a minimum age for buying alcohol, providing a suitably worded warning notice is on display.

I think there’s just as much trouble caused by over 21’s. Before teen smow (yes I know he’s 21 now lol) became a prison officer he worked in a pub and said it was usually the 30yr olds plus that were the biggest nightmare.
With pubs up and down the land closing by the hundreds, why on Earth would landlords/owners refuse entry to any group of people willing to spend lots of money?
exactly what i think... they need paying customers back now..
In all the pubs I go in, the average age is 40+ so I don't think there would be any worries amongst the clients.
//This is just lazy TV making. Set up a controversial subject and let people get wound up about it.//

That is not fair - the segment is in response to the actions of a Stroud pub landlord.

The landlord being interviewed did say that he was talking about his own pub and wasn't
referring to all the pubs in the UK. He said that a group of young people were not observing any of the rules regarding Covid restrictions. Not distancing, moving all around the pub, leaving their tables, abusing his staff and the other regulars . They were being obnoxious and rude. He had no alternative but to make them leave his pub. If they couldn't behave when sober what on earth would they be like if they had got drunk on his premises.
