Laplace got it wrong as he didnt know about chaotic motion
which rather settlees the point about the totally predicable clock work universe

PP I don't think that chaotic motion is an in-principle objection to determinism, it just says that the problem is too complex for us to calculate. Obviously calculation of every particle in the universe is beyond our reach, but not necessarily because of a principle. I'm sure that some people would regard it as being within the capability of god.
