My husband and I took out Lasting Powers of Attorney a couple of years ago, for Property and Financial Affairs, which was registered at the time with the Office of Public Guardian, both granting LPA to each other. We were both in good health at the time. My husband possibly will now go into a care home, temporarily in the first instance. If I think he is not able to manage his affairs later, how do I activate the LPA? Especially if he refuses to admit it? Would appreciate some informal advice.

This seems to be very clear and well-written. (There's a link on the page to information about the Mental Capacity Act):

i thought once it was registered you just deployed it when needed?

Thanks both of you, especially for the link Buenchico, which is clear. Hope it doesn't become necessary.
Where was the LPA lodged? A solicitors?
actually, reading chris' link just deploying it is basically what it's saying
No, Joe, a LPA isn't lodged with the solicitor. It is registered with The Office of the Public Guardian, a government body and the attorney needs to keep the original copy.

Again, thanks to you all
