Yes, it's almost as rare on TV as 'The Great Escape' ;-)
Or It's A Wonderful Life.

The difference is, I will always watch WED, never the others.
Over half a century ago, when I was just a nipper, my parents and I used to race to open the Radio Times and the TV Times when a bank holiday weekend was coming up, to see who could be the first to spot when 'She Wore a Yellow Ribbon' was on (and so that we could avoid watching it). It was shown on over every bank holiday period for over a decade!
There are some seriously horrible films which the powers-that-be deem to be 'classics; and keep foisting on us.

South Pacific is one - what drugs were they on!!!

It's a horrible homo-erotic plotless tuneless mish-mash of appallingly staged dance sections and some weird old lady caterwauling about Bali Hai,

Never ever again!!!
Stick to 'The Sound of Music', Andy ;-)
Grease is my musical of choice - one of my favourite films ever!!

I've never seen the point of musicals , myself
Question Author
I mean film musicals
My suggestion of watching 'The Sound of Music' was definitely tongue-in-cheek, Andy. I detest it!

My favourite musical on film? It's got to be this one!
. . . or possibly this one

. . . or, at a push, maybe even this one ;-)

but it is bank holiday weekend
which Bond film is being shown ?
How can you not enjoy those, Baz?

;-)
>>> which Bond film is being shown ?

You've only got 50 minutes to wait, Johnny ;-)

no american POWs in the great escape - real life. Steve McQ stroking his dead sickle as tho it were a dead charger/steed I thought hackneyed first time round.

Sound of Diarrhoea - I never thought I would hear - I am sixteen going on seventeen, when I was sixty going on seventy
only two hours to Line of Doody
who's gonna die? whos gonna die?
^^ John Snow ?
Ben Hur on Good Friday. Sky fall is on now
I never liked Wizard of Oz - just not a fan of Judy Garland, but everybody else seems to love it.
