We have agreed a contractor to remove tarmac and lay setts over entire drive area.
The builder wants a narrow channel gravel filled for drainage - should I pay extra for galvanised channel grated units along the driveway length ?

I imagine You're talking about the edges of the drive rather than across the middle of it? If he's planning to carry the surface water away to a soakaway or similar, then this would be better...........

You can buy the grating bit separately, but channels are much more stable.
If you plonk just the grating over loose gravel, then it won't take the load of someone driving right up to the edge. Channels will.

Thank you Builder! - Will probably have to renegotiate for extra cost of hardware/labour....
Depends on the drive, do you have a pic?
