Thank you, TTT. I shall investigate

Did you pay over £6K for it, TTT?
no, I got it used for £275 off Ebay and did some renovations, it's mechanically good as new now. It actually has an alternator and battery that charges as you use it so it doesn't need to be plugged in.
this is the previous model, still pretty good I used one of these in the Gym years ago:

there are 2 like mine for £1500, that's a good price really.
I do 30mins 5 days a week, it's transformed my fitness and it's all non impact, though it can aggravate an old Rugby knee injury if I go to high on the levels.

You got a bargain. I used a cross trainer extensively at a gym for many years and it suits me much better than a bike, rowing machine or treadmill. I don't really want to go back to the gym so a cross trainer at home would be perfect. It's just finding the right one. There used to be a huge sports shop that sold this sort of thing close to me but that has closed down - this is something I would prefer to see before I buy as cross trainers have different actions. The ones that move up and down are no good to me, I prefer a circular sort of action.

So far I'm looking at:
Proform Trainer 7 11kg flywheel
Proform 820E 9kg flywheel
SpaceSaver Se7i 8kg
JTX Trifit. 17kg (can that be right?)

I'm confused because of the difference in the flywheels. Any thoughts? Stride is important too as I have long legs
barry, trust me, I've had lesser models they are all terrible, get a proper Gym one. Bite the bullet, you get what you pay for.
