My daughter rang him yesterday just to see how he is. He was really rough, couldn't speak hardly, trouble breathing, hot, shaking. She rang 111. Had long chat with them, explained his life style. Lives on his own, is

Sorry it froze.
Paramedics said they would call. Took hours, he told them to go away. They came back as worried about him, eventually persuaded him to go to hospital. They think he had a heart attack even though no pains. Undergoing lots of tests. Possible discharge Monday.
Hope he'll be alright Caran.
Wow, heart attack with no pains. Hope it isn't so Caran and that he is discharged soon.

His lifestyle is a mess. House is a total disaster. He only goes out once a week for shopping and to buy only newspaper of the week. He has no friends apart from next door neighbour. Hospital say he can't go home on discharge. We have pursuaded him to go to my daughters. On discharge.
How old is he, by the way?
Hospital say he can't go home on discharge.

As bad as that then, Caran. I'm sure that his niece ( your daughter ) will take care of him.

He is 73.
Very independant. I had to assure him he would have his own ensuite bedroom. He was worried about own tv but I reassured him he would have his own so he has reluctantly agreed to come to gloucester.
he has reluctantly agreed to come to gloucester.

Well that must be a bit of good news to you, Caran ( fairly close to you ).
As and when he does return to his own home it might be worth looking into Attendance Allowance, which is not means-tested. This would pay for a cleaner to come in and keep the place tidy.
My best wishes to him for a speedy & comfortable recovery, Caran.

He doesn't need any financial help. This is another problem with him. He has more money than he knows what to do with. At the last count he had £250,000 in his current account. This is the second time in about three years. He is a miser. Will not spend anything if he can get away with it. Nightmare on the phone, he has no conversation so no response to anything. I always write out a list of topics before I phone him but usually no response. So I am never eager to phone him.
Just perhaps this incident may make him realise he needs help to cope and get the help he needs, especially if he can afford it.

Mamya he is so tight. He even piggybacks off next doors Internet. Hasn't got a printer because he objects to paying for inks.
It may make him rethink but if he doesn't then it's his choice and he's allowed to make it.

See how it goes.

I know what you mean, Caran. I work for a multi millionaire ( self made, well done him ), he turns of the lights on the factory floor at around half eight in the morning, wouldn't mind to much but he must be saving about a quid a day because they are LED lights.
ah tonyav, I once had a work colleague so tight he wouldn't rent videos, so out of the kindness of my heart I lent him one. Before he took it, he asked me how much the electricity would cost to play it. He wasn't joking.
Yep ( Wasn't my bosses brother was he ).
might have been, was your boss a grouchy Aussie?
Nooooo, A grouchy WBA fan that was born and raised in the area but now lives in a posh mansion type place in Henly in Arden.
