Watched it last night, terrific, beautifully filmed, set in 50s Italian rural poverty. Echoes of Visconti's, La Terra Trema.
Highly recommended. Anybody watched it ?

You can watch in the original Italian with English subs or English dubbed with English subs or not, there's a large choice of other options too.
The Italian with English subs gives the best atmosphere methinks.

There's also a great French 'chanson' by Charles Trenet which I've just found here;
