Ukraine is not in NATO and not in EU (not that we are any ore) so why are we getting involved - yet again.

If Xiden hadn't gone gobbing off to Putin calling him a killer this may well not have happened. Might not have happened if Xiden took up the challenge for a live debate too. But then he cant can he?

Bring back Trump - No wars started under him.

just out of curiosity I did a bit of googling for referring to "Biden" as "Xiden" and all the mentions I found seemed to come from these sources...

mm... not a good look is it :/
It's being used on various sites but it appears to refer to a supposed connexion with the Chinese leader, President Xi.

Do I care what you think untitled - Nope.

Looks like many want war then. OK.
Why? Because the current 'crisis' is coming to an end and our leaders need something to occupy their time and scare the kids with.
Keeps us in line.
Sunk; //Let there be no doubt - Russia are our enemy.
Russia invaded and Annexed Crimea, part of Ukraine.//

'Crimea was part of Russia from 1783, when the Tsarist Empire annexed it a decade after defeating Ottoman forces in the Battle of Kozludzha, until 1954, when the Soviet government transferred Crimea from the Russian Soviet Federation of Socialist Republics (RSFSR) to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (UkrSSR). The transfer was announced in the Soviet press in late February 1954, eight days after the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet adopted a resolution authorizing the move on 19 February. The text of the resolution and some anodyne excerpts from the proceedings of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet meeting on 19 February were published along with the very brief announcement. Nothing else about the transfer was disclosed at the time, and no further information was made available during the remainder of the Soviet era.'
Evidently you don't care much about the truth or integrity either youngmafbog.
Crimea was an autonomous region for a long time from the early '20s to the 1940s khandro... and so what if it was part of Russia? the same is true for many parts of eastern europe and central asia. Is Russia justified in invading and annexing places that used to be part of it?
(autonomous region within the ussr, I should say)
"t appears to refer to a supposed connexion with the Chinese leader, President Xi. "

thats a bit stupid then because "Xi" is not pronounced the same is the "Bi" in "Biden"...

oh well. What are Trumpists like.
untitled; what do you mean by 'autonomous' ?
it was a form of administrative division within the RSFSR which had varying degrees of legal autonomy over time. Stalin abolished it in the 40s and returned it to 'oblast' status after savagely deporting the tatar population.

Do you think Russia is justified in invading and annexing places that used to be part of it.
Crimea was still an autonomous region of course, within Ukraine. Russian proxies effectively hijacked the parliament building and curved a wholly spurious and unconstitutional vote on independence.

I think it’s the brazenness of the Putin regime and its lapdog press outlets that shocks most of us.
As for whether a few RAF planes pootling up and down the Black Sea is either going to provoke war or deter and plans Putin, well that’s debatable.
Talk of Russia invading Ukraine is slightly laughable: Russia did that 7 years ago, but they only want the bits they can easily manage. They don’t have the resources to do any more.
A full blown invasion WOULD lead to a wider war regardless of what anyone does now, but more likely it’ll be more of the same sly aggression with implausible denial.
These things are handy for an ageing dictator with plummeting popularity partly due to the disastrous handling of the pandemic.
We're getting involved because NATO considers Russia's recent actions a cause for concern and that may directly affect NATO countries. Ukraine also has a relationship with NATO if not full membership.
"Ukraine also has a relationship with NATO if not full membership."

Like Monica and Bill Clinton?

We are getting involved because that, unfortunately, is how this insane geopolitical game is 'set up'.
Winston would not agree with you ymb I’ll tell you that
// Crimea was part of Russia until 1954 //
from around 1850 hem hem
not always
stalin deported the er crimeans as was his wont - 1945
and put in good russian boys
and Putin said well it is russia obviously innit?

putin is trying to re establish the russian empire
and the lucky russian subject peoples are saying no no thanks
// Like Monica and Bill Clinton?//

I am not sure - - I will suck it and see - that kind of relationship
oh come on
President Xiden is obviously - - - -
president xi-den foo !

something everyone can say - - righto! to
It’s beyond ridiculous associating Xi with Biden.

As for the Crimean Tatars, yes largely deported by Stalin. Under Ukraine they had been rehabilitated to a great extent. Re-enter the Russians, restarts the persecution.
Food for thought
Why is it that anti-democratics can't spell? Biden won a democratic election, and some people insist on misspelling his name to express their disrespect. If only Trump had a sensible name I could take the hiss out of him, but I wouldn't stoop to that.
