The end of the world is nigh (on a cosmological timescale!).
pixie; /all humans have morals, and as far as I can see- more so than any bible would like./

Perhaps you might please re-phrase that, I don't understand what you are saying.

A serving British police officer is set to go on trial in October accused of the kidnap murder & dismembering of Sarah Everard, I have just seen pictures of a teenager throwing a petrol bomb into the cabin of a Belfast bus, (what happened to the poor driver I don't know, but the bus was completely destroyed)

The morals of these 'humans' seems pretty opaque to me.

The bible doesn't 'like' anything & the assimilation - or not - of what it contains is quite voluntary.
I can't work out why anyone thinks human beings were once better than they are now.
Khandro - there are numerous religious leaders who have exploited their status to abuse people.

Humanity has morals, but they vary.
The Bible does feature a couple of snippets with a defined 10 point moral code, and a few of 'examples' from Jesus describing how 99.99% of the current population at least believe they are following, however other parts of the book have God commanding people like Moses to commit all sorts of atrocities which it turned out were alright because God commanded them which sadly isn't a legal defence anymore.

DO YOU not agree that these are terrible times?

Well as we move deeper into the the world experiencing an epidemic of violence a long with all the other thing.

You see the fulfilling prophecy, Jesus said to his true disciples to these questions are of the highest importance to us today when there is being forced upon us the need to make an intelligent decision regarding whom or what we worship.

A person can fool himself by saying: “I worship no one or nothing! I fear neither God nor man.” But in course of time telltale facts will come to light to show whom or what a person is worshiping.
goodlife - // A person can fool himself by saying: “I worship no one or nothing! I fear neither God nor man.” //

A person can also fool himself by saying "I worship and fear God." as well.

Isn't freedom of choice a wonderful thing.
Why has the Bible got so many pages - it's a bloody nightmare trying to read it all and make sense of it. No wonder more and more people are turning away from it.
//You take love my neighbour,? Pray for one another,? Speak kind to one another? Do you think people should have a moal code?//

Do you love your neighbour goodlife?
The one who is destitute, wrapped in a blanket next to your cart full of religious paraphanlia? Do you off him help, a place to live and to be a human again? YOU! YES, YOU Personaly?
No doubt that you 'pray' for him as you go off to your warm bed at night. Do you speak well of him?
Do you think that HE may have a moral code?
Or has THAT thought never crossed your mind?
People are tribal, whichever way you look at it...
Tribal Family,
Tribal, socially,
Tribal, politicaly,
Tribal in work, class, economically, religion etc

We are tribal beings.
Just gets my goat when one tribe insists its better than another tribe when it does f all to facilitate those beliefs except to spout nonsense while obvlivious to its own shortcomings.
Naomi " people the whole world over have always been the same."
I beg to differ. Where have you been hiding yourself all these years?
Can you not see the deterioration in people's morals, the way wars are fought now, the senseless crime and the breakdown in families. Same sex marriage and transvestites. Yes - maybe these things happened but not to the degree they are today. Children no longer safe to play outside in the street. Drugs etc. I could go on and on.

When I was a child I showed respect to my elders, (seen but not heard), I could go out to play for the whole day and my mother did not have to worry where I was, as long as I was home by teatime.

Teachers were allowed to discipline without fear of prosecution.
The Police were honest and were respected ( btw I was in the force).

Old people were looked after by the family and not just "dumped" in homes when they were no longer useful.

Women were respected, children were obedient and family life was the important thing in society.

If you look back into history I am sure you will find that once the family broke down, so did society. (Rome, Greek).

You are either ignorant or blind not to be able to see how society as a whole has changed worldwide. And not for the better!

Do you believe that we are living in the last days? Many don’t, but Bible prophecies about the last days are coming true. Soon Jehovah will decide to stop the preaching of the good news and “the end” will come. (Matthew 24:14) What is the end? It is Armageddon, when God will remove all wickedness. Jehovah will use Jesus and his powerful angels to destroy anyone who refuses to obey Him and his Son. (2 Thessalonians 1:6-9) After that, Satan and his demons will not mislead people. And all those who want to obey God and accept his Kingdom will see every promise of God come true.—Revelation 20:1-3; 21:3-5.
So at the end of the day is your choice, that been the case all through the bible.
Idiosyncrasy, perhaps you can tell me when human beings were better than they are now? There are a few tales in the bible that indicate otherwise.
