Item on BBC breakfast this morning reporting on this. Don't they earn enough to buy their own food?

Yes they do LJ.
Do the fat ones qualify too?
o god what a misery guts

the Kohn family Ollie, Josh and X are giving out free butties to the workers of all sorts as they go in to work at Ysbyty Wrecsam (Wrexham Hospital that is!)

well done Ollie, Josh and no 3 !
yes fatties are limited to 5 butties according to their notice
I used to get free food at work. If they were understaffed they prefer you to stay on-site.
my cousin, ward sister & mother of 4, worked nights, died of covid last week. No job is worth your life!
No NHS discount for funerals.
sorry to read that tambo -
Just to reassure those of you that seem concerned that us NHS workers are being swamped with unnecessary free food, at our hospital we certainly are not ( in fact our management have banned most donations). Yes I do go to the supermarket just like anyone else, do we get massive pay rises, Boris and his fellow ministers are always very keen to emphasize the 12 % given to the lowest paid, anything those of us on slightly higher scales received was pretty much offset by an increase in pension contributions. As for on-call pay, I get the magnificent sum of eleven pounds and fifty seven pence ( pre-tax) per evening, which rises to fourteen pounds per weekend evening. Don't think I will be retiring any time soon !
I personally think its rather petty to begrudge people who are effectively risking their lives every day a free meal.
no i don't suppose you will, now i have retired officially, i got on my Personal Independence payment a whole 30p increase,
i am not complaining by the way, just wondered what to do with it.
// my cousin, ward sister & mother of 4, worked nights, died of covid last week. No job is worth your life!//

very sorry to hear that Tambo, ( my condolences seems so empty at this time )
yeah I wanted to leave aside the old rules that so and so will not leave the Hospital ....

oh I must say, 2000s - GOSH ( yup Gt Ormond st) wd close its canteen at a really stoopid time - fri lunch time I think and reopen Mon 9am and make difficulties about on call staff feeding themselves

and the admin didnt give a toss if the resident staff ate or not

anyway to the leddy who has mentioned a 31 p rise in PIP
if you look at the rest of the cheque madam, you will see that it is not pennies - and untaxable
and not payable to dead people
but hey this is Mean Sunday innit?
thanx for condolences. The worst part is that no family could visit or be with her due to x infection, only medic colleagues tended her for 3months it took to end.
