Brilliant stuff. I always keep a few packets in the cupboard. Ideal for topping shepherds pie and yesterday I mixed it with left over greens for bubble and squeak.I make it with milk and extra butter rather than water.Mobility problems make cooking a chore for me these days and I find it difficult to peel spuds.Things like this make life a lot easier.

Lol....lol

Just visualised a little old lady, living on the 38th floor of a block of flats standing outside an out of order lift on the ground floor, with a sack of potatoes...lol...lol
Is Waitrose in Spain now, Sqad?
Question Author
barry....no..
Greengrocers do deliver, even to tower blocks
I'm confused - are you still in Spain?
Question Author
barry......indeed and once delivered where does our 9ld lady put them and how does she lug the sac around?

No......she uses Idahoan Packet Potatoes lol
Question Author
No barry, we came back to the UK nearly 3 years ago.
I must admit OH does all the veg preparation and potato mashing these days much of the cooking these days. I would probably use it if he wasn't there.

You don't lug the sack around. You take what you need out of the sack.
As long as the potatoes don't get overheated and are kept in the sack until required they'll keep fine.
Although it would take a long time for a single person of any age to get through over 590lbs of potatoes - she would of course by a small sack of 10lb, readily available. They would keep lovely in a small bin on the balcony
3 years! I had no idea
I buy Tesco's frozen tatties and they're great.

my potatoes stay in the fridge till I need them, and don't go green. Of course, how do I know the little Schrodinger who lives in there isn't switching the light on?

I never thought the day would come where you start a thread on dried mashed potato.

I would say that you need to get out more but that applies to us all these days. :-)
The Iceland frozen mash is not bad.
Just tried this for my tea, after reading your endorsement.
Hmmmm, bit too sloppy for my liking, and not much flavour.
Got half a pack left, so I'll try again with less water.
It was on offer for £1, so not a big outlay.
