Last night I watched the very last episode of Spiral and feel like I've lost good friends. I've binged watched all 8 series and understand there will be no more. Felt the same way when I finished Montalbano so will now have to search out another - maybe The Bridge?

4 series of The Bridge, excellent drama, start with series one as you get to know the central characters, and the fascinating lead actress. you won't be disappointed.
I know what you mean. Got into Spiral rather late, about three series ago, and found it totally convincing - so well directed you couldn't see the joins. Very well acted, especially by Thierry Godard as Gilou: he just was him, didn't seem to be acting at all. But all good things come to an end, and I think the actors (Caroline Proust, in particular) wanted to move on.
All three series of Code 37: Sex Crimes is still available. From Belgium and in Flemish, it has that same ensemble feeling that Spiral has.
Sometimes rather explicit and violent but sometimes very funny.

Is it in English or has it got subtitles?
Code 37 is (as I said) in Flemish, with English subtitles.
Apologies. I was asking about Spiral as I googled it and it said it was a French series.
^^ah, Spiral is in French with English subtitles (you don't normally get dubbing on foreign TV series...way too expensive, I think).
I am doing the series from the start
I've just started season 8 after binging 1-7, with a brief break for a line of Duty rewatch, probably because I was putting off finishing Spiral!

The Bridge is fantastic :)
