Considering what's been going on over the past year, the billions spent supporting the economy and the number of unemployed going through the roof when furlough ends, I think it is. The public sector as usual has been protected from harsh economic reality so none of them can hardly complain. Also there's the usual gushing and worship of the NHS which is used by vested interests to cloud the issue with emotion.

NHS workers have saved an awful lot of money with their 10% discount in supermarkets etc.....is that still going on?

Not sure I agree with the current rate of inflation as we have all seen prices rise and utilities / petrol jumping. Civil servants / nurses etc have had many years of austerity and do jobs many people wouldnt consider. That said most people realise this is all going to cost us for many years so we cant expect significant rises any time soon.

One of my (self-employed) daughters is facing losing her flat, dad having to financially bail her out this morning.
She'd love the security of a steady job in the NHS with the salary as is, & so I think would thousands of others who are struggling at this time.
