I had morning appointments on consecutive days this week for an eye test and hearing aid update.

When I walked back to the car park yesterday I stopped to take in the sight of a hearse parked on double yellow lines at the rear entrance to Iceland. It was still there after some 15 minutes. Made me think!

Haha, was it a scene from Corrie Choux?

I haven't seen Corrie for decades, bobbi, but I can imagine!
There is a backlog in funerals and the funeral parlours have run out of cold storage. Iceland is the obvious place for the overspill, don't you think? :D
Which freezer chest/cabinet might the undertaker have put the - er - passenger in?
"We've come to collect Mr Jones. Where is he, please." "He's in the centre aisle, underneath the chicken wings that are on special offer." :-)
In the Angel Delight cabinet.

You are all very naughty boys!
May he rest in peas
I saw a hearse parked outside my neighbour's house in Sheffield and worried that she or her husband, or even one of their two children, might have died. She looked hearty enough when I saw her the following day though and I told her of my concerns. She laughed and said "My brother works for an undertaker. His vehicle was parked outside the house while I was making some sandwiches for him" ;-)

In my trade-plating days (hitching lifts across the country to pick up cars for delivery), a hearse was one of the more unusual vehicles that stopped to give me a lift. (Others included a police car and a Group 4 prison escort vehicle).
LOL. Barry deserves 'Best Answer'!
