When I am watching a crime drama for example I like to watch in complete silence so I can hear every word and get absorbed into it. I find it irritating if someone who is watching it with me talks over it, even if making a comment about what we are watching and I miss some dialogue. Anyone agree?

Have none of you got the pause/rewind button?. We often stop a programme to make a comment, that comment usually these days ' what on earth did he/she say?' What on earth was that all about? and 'Good grief!'
TTT..Surely you must have stolen the dogs food in the past, . Dogs never forget!
Lol no lb, she's used to me wittering away to myself when TV is on and probably just thinks 'oh she's off again'! I think it's funny that Jay does that ...
LOL TTT. Is it just to you he does that?
APG, as I said above, everything I watch is recorded so we pause rewind etc at will. Yes we often rewind to try and figure out what someone said, sometimes N times and then finally rewind to to put on the subtitles if it's un clear!
Ha! That's very funny TTT ...
LB, yes only me. The other one barks at me when I go out the front door!
Shirley if his eyes are open he's looking at me, all day every day.
Except when the dog walker arrives who takes him out for 2.5 hours up onto the South Downs. Then I don't exist LOL.
I suppose to him I look like the tea leaving sort. Strange because it's often me that actually puts the food out anyway. I guess he never made the connection! That's Jack Russells for you, radio rental!
TTT we can pause live TV, can't most people do that these days?

I must admit we have resorted to subtitles on more than one occasion, I don't know why actors feel the need to mumble, but thick regional accents don't help either.
Bet he can't wait to get back home to you though lb ..
It's perfectly acceptable as long as it's oneself doing it.
TTT, my JR will only eat his food if i am in the house. I can put a bowl of food down for him before i set off to work and, despite the fact my daughter comes down at dinner to walk him, the food is still there when i return. But as soon as he is done welcoming me home (yapping and making me play a few minutes ball with him) he goes and eats his food. Completely radio rental.
APG, yes, well I'd have thought most can pause live TV now.
Tora they are clever little devils though. Enormous fun and never a dull moment when you're out with them.
BS, yes, when she stops giving him treats he will come back in but not before;-)
