Is back again, started last Friday for anyone interested and enjoyed his last series. I only caught the second half on Friday but saw the first half on catch up yesterday.
He comes across as such a nice person, and I love his ceramics.

I saw a pair of his large pots on display a few years back in a gallery, (can’t remember which one). They were great.
I’ve watched some of his programs in the past. In one series he made a huge tapestry based on the people he met. He does seem to be able to relate to anyone. Perhaps because he is not judgemental.

I like Grayson Perry but I switched the first of his art programmes off after about the first ten minutes. They mentioned Covid/lockdown several times and I found that depressing. I haven’t watched it since. I want to be entertained - not reminded of doom and gloom.

Naomi: That was the point of his first Art Club -to encourage people to take a negative and turn it into a positive. To encourage people to start dabbling in Art in whatever form, as a distraction to the Pandemic, and not being worried they were 'not good enough'. I love all his programmes and his attitude; he seems very genuine and not at all up himself like a lot of these Arty types can be.

Did you honestly expect Grayson was going to do a programme about Art during the Pandemic and not mention the above?
Obviously, something hasn't sunk in -maybe you should have read the Radio Times twice to make sure you knew what the programme was about.

Obviously, something hasn't sunk in -maybe you should have read the Radio Times twice to make sure you knew what the programme was about.
Its a great programme and they are a lovely couple. It has a really strong sense of inclusivity which is so very rare, and helps to remind me that everyone is in the same boat during these long lockdown months. Arts and crafts can be isolating hobbies and this series has gone a long way to reduce that feeling.
I tried many years ago in school Lj as I used to love art, but I was just never any good at it. The teacher drew a quick charcoal drawing of my face from the side and it was excellent, Mum treasured that portrait. I just couldn't compare. It's such a gift to be able to create another person's likeness.
What I've got from Grayson's programmes are that your artwork does not have to be perfect as long as its honest. Like he said -if you want a perfect likeness take a photo. It's certainly inspired me to think about doing some different types of artwork including using some of the fleece from my sheep. I wonder if anyone on AB has sent in any artwork for his programme?
