Been pondering this for a while - on Escape To The Country or A Place In The Sun there never seems to be anyone around - wondering what time they film it? Never anyone walking up the road, or in the swimming pools or coming out of the shops or sitting outside pubs. Do you think they clear the area before filming?

I reckon they film early in the morning...had noticed that too.

Occasionally you get a couple of horse riders riding through a village - maybe just to add a country feeling and rather like Emmerdale where the same two horses appear in many episodes. In shops there are never other customers either.
Some of the cafes are full of people and sometimes they show a market day.
But I had noticed the empty pools too.
too many extras cost money!
Yes, and the beaches. They must film very early in the morning.
Hah! I'd wondered also. Especially the empty pool areas, which are probably jammed when in use. If I saw a lot of people, either outside my door or just below my balcony, it would be a big NO.
Great question.
I agree pasta. Would put me right off buying.
I've been thinking about this. My sister lives in Spain on a residential complex and whenever I visit in winter I am in t shirt and shorts, the sun is shining and it is warm. Sister is in jumper and fleece because it feels cold to her. Nobody uses the pool because it isn't heated, I did one winter and it was freezing. Not many folk about during the day cos they're all at work
Fab question. They must do x
Maybe the TV crew block off the road while they're filming.
