No, I annoy myself for my failings. Is there any chance of being someone else for a while?

Showing yourself the same care you offer those you love, making the same allowances for failure or shortcomings, taking time to do the things that make you happy, calm, peaceful, joyful, exhilarated. It should also include eating healthiest food, exercising etc but nobody is perfect.
Ummmmm what you describe is not loving 'you' its loving or being content with your achievements. Some people can attain all of the things you say you have but still inside feel self-doubt and have low self-esteem .
Naomi, to answer your earlier question to me, no - not always because often you are unaware of the situation you are going into.

Through life I have learnt what is bad for me and avoid those people and situations wherever possible, something that was not as easy when I was a young wife and Mum and ran businesses.

Learning to accept yourself and look after yourself better has been for me something that has come with age.

Hopkirk, you really made me laugh. I wonder if we all think that at times?

Thanks so much for all your answers - Gulliver's silliness excepted. Very interesting.
