If God(if she exists)didnt intend us to eat meat then why did she invent cows and pigs and sheep and fish?
Veg is murder. I'd not want to be responsible for the death of plants to feed me.

Meanwhile, the objectionable bit is the idea we must switch and put up with it. It's a preposterous instruction. An example of control freakery at It's worst. The tolerated authority covid reactions seem to have warped some folk's minds as to how fellow citizens can be manipulated with impunity.
I want to start out by saying that I'm a massive hypocrite given that I'm seriously keen on eating meat. But all the same, it's clear that there are environmental concerns, and also moral ones, about eating meat on such an industrial scale. A first step in the right direction is clearly to make sure that you source meat products as locally as possible, from known suppliers that don't abuse their animals and ensure that the animals have as happy a life as possible (up until their premature death, at least), which addresses both partially. If nothing else, meat is better-quality if it's sourced from a healthy animal that was given a good diet and proper living conditions.

But at some point it's hard to see how we won't naturally move towards sourcing meat from sources that were never technically alive. One obvious trend in the history of the world is regarding fewer and fewer things that are sentient as "property" (slaves, wives, employees, etc. etc.). Animals will, in time, be likewise treated as more than just "stock".
I'm really looking forward to trying it.

love my roast dinners, steaks chops sausages burgers etc, meat is murder mmm do plants have feelings that we dont know about.
Fender; do you think that plants have feelings? If they did, would it stop you eating them? I know that animals can feel pain and distress, but I don't think that plants have the right equipment to have emotions. I suspect you might agree with that.

Atheist, seen something years ago about peple talking to plants, i dont know no care, curious in a oddway.
It's called evolution, our bodies are not designed for eating meat.
fcc; our bodies are not designed, they evolved (which is not a synonym for being designed). We evolved to be able to eat almost anything which once was alive. Through most of our evolution as mammals we probably ate little meat in our diet.
