Someone was on the box this morning saying that all the viruses in the world would fit inside a coke can. Weird thought.

While we're at it always wanted to understand how we're made of stardust. Can't get my head around people producing babies and the babies are made of stardust. Nice thought though. Answers suitable for the terminally challenged please.

A more imaginable description of an atom (of which everything in the universe is made) is that if the nuclei was the size of a poppy seed the outer 'shell' of the atom would be the size of Wembley Stadium, everything else in there is space.
Well, that's how it looked when I last gazed at one through my 'Young Scientist's Microscope' my mam bought me from Woolworths.
It's just that all the atoms of which we are made were generated by activities within stars. What is amazing is that those atoms arranged themselves as molecules and the molecules arranged themselves in clumps which led to living cells. Unfortunately, our language includes words like 'laws' and naive people think that that means there is a 'law-giver'.

Answers suitable for the terminally challenged please." - essentially all elements after hydrogen are made in stars, so things like carbon, iron etc are made in stars, thus in order for those elements to exist to build your body they must have been provided by a star, a dying star, nova or supernova, thus, yes we are made of stardust.
I would fit into the Royal Albert Hall, but I wouldn't fill it.

I work with someone who had a shaky grasp of the difference between bacteria and viruses, when this whole coronavirus thing blew up in February-March 2020. I put them right, at the time.
