A story that has been repeated up and down the Country for almost a year now sadly.
It must be heartbreaking for landlords.
heart breaking for landlords and me and every other beer drinker
don't do wine or liquor less a vodka n orange with the miss's very rare
my old dad said you must have hollow legs son, blessem long gone, he was a whiskey drinker through and through, not me..just ale.
I feel desperately sorry for the whole hospitality industry - the lockdowns have utterly screwed them, and I find that very sad.

It's also unnecessary to have fubarred them.

In the last two weeks where I live two pubs have had to call it a day - the requirement to pay rent, with no income, doesn't go away etc, etc, etc...

I sincerely hope Boris recognises this on Monday and allows people in the hospitality industry to actually earn a living.

Plus, by christ (and I fully accept it's a first world problem) I'm really bloody missing meeting up with mates in the pub.
one of the oldest pubs in London has gone to the wall, they won't open again, which i find very sad... its not too far from where i live.
I actually had this conversation with mr smow lastnight. We said how many pubs are going to collapse because of lockdown. So so awful x
Emmie, which pub is that?
going on the news I think it was The Yorkshire Grey, top end of Grays Inn Road, though i didn't think it was that old, but will have a look for a link to see.
can't see any more on that Naomi. but if its closed that will be a sad day.

I can assure you that is not the case. There are many businesses still investing in refurbishments and even expansions / conversions.

The Yorkshire Grey will probably be taken on by some pub-co or entrepreneurs.
Thanks emmie. I know that pub.
i hope someone does.
so do i Naomi, used to work just around the corner.
