The spiral begins TRA... and ends in the central square, Matakari.
If you know anything about the person who's name is on the right side of the perimeter, there's only one possibility for the 9 letter word.

Yes, that is fantastic, ProfessorMaisie, I've got the 9-letter place.
Now trying to see how the barred cell will help me identify the location of the two missing or damaged parts of the key perimeter answer( 4 words ).
