There was an entry in Jokes yesterday advertising penis enlargement which I twice reported as "Spam Content" but it was not removed. I then reported it as "Profane Content" and it's now gone.

We moderators don't see ourselves as gods, Canary42, because (as your question shows) we can't actually be omnipresent. Being omniscient is good enough for me though ;-)

Lol..
One man's meat...
Moderators don't see our reports, the Ed and team do.
The mod may have taken time getting the contact details before removing it ?
Just for clarification . . .

As Mamya says, reports don't go to moderators; they only go to AB Towers. So, unless there happen to be any Eds about out of office hours, nothing will happen in response to a report until the Eds have arrived at work in the morning. (Even if a report is sent when AB Towers is open, the Eds might not see it straight away. Moderating AB is only a very tiny part of their jobs; most of their time is taken up by digital marketing work for AB's parent company, SilverdDisc).

A spam post will only come to the attention of AB's moderators if it gets spotted in 'Latest Posts' or it's still visible when a mod takes a look under 'Most Recent' on the site's home page (where posts in 'Jokes' don't appear anyway).
If Mods don't remove Spam how come its removed out of office hours? How come if there is any spam some contributors will post 'if there are any mods about there is a lot of spam in ( category)'?

I've read one Mod who is up very early says he gets all the Spammers in the early hours -Explain?
chrises answer seems quite clear to me - they don't see reports, but if they see the spam or are directed to it they can remove it
Moderators can remove spam and other stuff if they see it or are alerted to it, they do not see reports, which is what the OP mentioned.
In that case what is the point of anyone reporting a spam post out of office hours? Or at the weekends ?
Not a great deal of use if something is urgent really.

It may go the next working day though.
at weekends if its something really nasty, i have seen people making a post with a link to a thread asking any mod around to look at it.

/// Mods don't see reports///

I used Mod as to rhyme with God - geddit?.

I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition to react so adversely :-D
