Foreskin Trouble

I'm a 63 old guy. About two months ago I noticed I was having trouble pulling my foreskin back. This has got progressively worse until now I can't pull it back at all.
I haven't had sex for a few years, and I suffer from erectile dysfunction.
I've tried to check my foreskin, but it's a little diggicult seeing over my belly. It feels that there is some sort of hard skin underneath the top which is stopping me from pulling it back. It now seems that the front of my foreskin is starting to look as though it is bruised.
Any ideas anyone ?

This is called balanitis and is almost certainly a fungal infection. Buy Canestan cream from the chemist, try to gently retract the penis, clean and remove the hard skin and apply the cream 3 times a day and give us some feedback over the next 48 hours.
Your are not a diabetic I presume ?

I have had the same problem for about 2 years, I'm 73 years old.
GP told me it maybe diabetes, after a blood test proved it not to be the case, he gave me a steroid cream to use which sorted it for a few days but it quickly came back, he also said that I could have the foreskin cut to ease the pain.
I have noticed that if I have the slightest sign of soreness in the crutch area it does bring on the tight foreskin.

Thanks for the advice, there are a number of different canestan creams, is there a standard one for this condition?
As I said in an earlier post, my tight foreskin gets worse if my 'jock itch' flares up, I also suffer from thrush and herpes, both of which return occasionally, thanks for any help.

Canesten used to be sold on supermarket shelves, Sqad, but it suddenly disappeared and was only available from pharmacies. When I tried to buy some for jock itch a few years back, the pharmacist said that he couldn't sell it to me because I was over 60 and that he couldn't offer any alternative without a doctor's prescription.

We are not allowed to sell anyone over 60 or under 16 any Canesten products, as it is not licensed for those age groups. When you are over 60 you can get something called Atrophic vaginitis which mimics thrush it happens to postmenopausal women who's lack of oestrogen reduces vaginal resistance to infection and injury, which can produce similar burning and itching symptoms to thrush, but thrush is uncommon in postmenstrual women. Therefore we can not sell it because it could not be thrush at all"
