Today we see pictures and signs of rainbows on fences, in windows and painted on walls in honour of the NHS.
Only a few years ago it was the sign of the LGBT community.
The first rainbow is mentioned in the Book of Genesis Chapter 9 v 8 - 16.
So what actually is this symbol?

Idiosyncrasy, the flood: another of God’s failures.
Idiosinc...12:43
Do you really believe that Noah and his family were the only decent people on Earth? And you say that all the rest of the global population was wicked? How would you describe a god who kills all human and animal life on the planet except for one family, because they didn't know about 'Him' or refused to worship him?
Atheist - Are you seriously giving God the third degree?
The God who doesn't exist? In whom you do not believe?
Theland, I'm asking if Idio... really believes in the bible ark story.

I would - if God existed. Seriously.
The monster exists only by virtue of those that harbour it refuge in their own mind.
MIBs, are you sure?
(I presume God is the monster?)
You think God exists only in our minds?
So all of the attributable works of God will have to find another causal explanation. There's the problem.
Where do we find such a thing?
Science?
Sorry, science has failed, by searching for the cause of everything, within the products of that cause.
The phrase comes to mind, ''ever decreasing circles before disappearing ............... ''
(I'm sure you know the rest.)
How can science fail Theland? It's an ongoing process, failure can only be measured on completion of science's work. If all scientists laid down their tools and said "We give up". Then you can state that it failed.
What is wrong with having a symbol?

Every company has a symbol so why not the NHS? And rainbows are pretty. I think every childrens ward across the UK will have a rainbow painted on one of the walls.

Have you, Theland, seen excited people get when they see a double rainbow.
* how excited

Attributed by whom and why? If you’ve concluded that you have the answer it’s reasonable to request verifiable evidence to support that. Where’s your verifiable evidence?
Earlier traditions have the rainbow as a bridge. between the physical and spiritual, life and death ( sentimentalised in the rainbow bridge when pets die) In Norse mythology it was the Bifrost the heavenly road to Asgard, and to o there a symbol of unity. Born of sunlight and rain it was a sign of good harvests to come, and a good omen usually. Double rainbows however could be ambivalent in meaning and signify a barrier as well as good things to come. Larger multiples much rarer.
