Hi I hope you don't mind me asking this but I live in Wiltshire and strong gut feeling is telling me to move to South Devon. I have always had strong feelings for moving to South Devon but my advocate is trying to force me to stay in Wiltshire. She says that I won't know anyone or have anyone to help me with letters (I have boarderline learning difficulties). I don't feel right in Wiltshire anymore and I am longing to get out, but I can't seem to get her to understand this.

I would like some advice please as I am not sure what to do. many thanks.

My feeling is you should go. There is nothing sadder in life than looking back and saying "if only....", if you dont go, one day you will regret it, maybe when its too late. If you are truly "longing" to move, then you would be foolish not to listen to your heart. As they say, life is not a dress rehearsal, you only get one chance to be happy. Besides, Wiltshire will still be here if you find that Devon doesnt work out for you, you can just come right back! Not knowing anyone is a situation that we all face at times in our lives, but it neednt last long, and from my experience people in Devon are generally friendly enough, you will soon make some new friends and the ones you have now will love to come down to Devon to visit you! It sounds a bit to me like your friend is more worried about losing your company herself than actually advising you for your best interests, maybe she is worried about her life without you in it?

Thanks for your input. I have my eyes on Teignmouth or Dawlish. I will have to do a houseswap or go onto the council list as I can't afford to buy. My Advocate is in her 50's or 60's and means well, but she tends to throw doubt over everything.

I need to see this area in Winter, as I have only seen it in the summer. Then if I like what I see then I will add my name to the list and wait as long as it takes. Then my next problem will be finding someone who can help me move my furniture. Is there anyone here on this board that comes from this area of Devon that know this area and can offer me any advice?

What is also so crystal healing perchance? I collect crystals.

:)

Hiya, just found an old posting, I spent all my life in Devon, especially in Dawlish, let me know if I can help.
