The 'pending' section is not perfect. With my bank it will show DDs and BACS payments due to be debited the next working day but not card payments or standing orders. A good idea is to look at the 'available' balance. This takes into account any transactions which have not yet appeared on your statement.

About two days.
Depends...credit card can be up to several days. Debit card can be almost instantaneous...may depend on how the payment was initially made.
Sometimes instantly for me, but I guess it might be delayed depending on the system used by the merchant.
Some cards have a "pending" section; if you're waiting to see if a transaction has been made it's worth looking there as well as the main section.
With my debit card cash withdrawals appear instantly, purchases usually after 24 hours.
