The supposedly 'posh' track and dance movements - I've never come across it before. Is it well-known and what is the significance?

I think the track you are after is "Prince Charming" by Adam & The Ants, a big hit in the early 1980's. The dance steps are the same as used in the original video for Prince Charming. As to the significance, your guess is as good as mine!
