whinge on about 'chronic under-investment in the NHS'. Simply not true, by any measure.

Well its true in this crisis but who could of forseen this as imminent a 18 months ago. And its sort of true in that whatever is spent it wont be enough as there will allways be demands for more resource's. Spending has grown but maybe not in line with the increasing UK population and the new treatments including cosmetic surgery. Were spending loads more in real terms than 50 years ago yet there are fewer beds
When they get independence they'll be able to fund their own health service as much as they like. Good luck with that.
Health and Education are the 2 areas most neglected and mismanaged by SNP..gross hypocrisy from our not so glorious leader
with whose money, tomus?
I'm sure she'll find some reason why the English are at fault.
Does she really believe all that or is it just convenient?
she is delusional Lady...wants to whip up a frenzy of support from the "bravehearters"
I agree Minty. Scotland's own little female Trump.
too much personal ambition getting in the way of running the country

Agreed.

They never stop to think that they are Civil Servants not emperors, kings, queens, etc.

Couldn't she divert stop some of the freebies she provides, courtesy of England's largesse, to the NHS in Scotland?

Scottish universities accepted almost 28,000 students in August 2020, which by my maths, at £9,000 a pop is, £252m.
Desk..there's a fair old strumash within SNP at the moment regarding Alex Salmond..now her husband is being accused of illegal activities within that scandal..as she has been ..of political wrongdoings and skullduggery..these are diversion tactics
...but up here in Scotland it is the Scottish government which is control of the NHS.So it is the SNP who are at fault. If they didnt spend millions of pounds on ferries that get half-built ,and millions on internecine wars within the SNP between Salmond and Sturgeon, then the SNP might be able to fund the NHS a lot more.
I blame Mel Gibson.
DTC // with whose money, tomus? //

Well, exactly. If they're an independent country they'll be free to fund their own health service from their own tax revenue.
Which is why I wish them good luck with it.
ynnafymmi : "...but up here in Scotland it is the Scottish government which is control of the NHS."

But not the funds available for the NHS.
"Currently 32.4% of taxation collected in Scotland is in the form of taxes under the control of the Scottish parliament and 67.6% of all taxation collected in Scotland goes directly to the UK government in taxation that is a reserved matter of the UK parliament...{also}under the direct control of the UK parliament which has remained a reserved matter to itself all powers over Corporation tax, National Insurance, Value-added tax (VAT), Capital gains tax, Inheritance tax, Aggregates "
The NHS is funded mainly from general taxation (over 80%) supplemented by National Insurance contributions.

Maybe it would save a lot of time and effort, years of waffle, if we just said 'OK, you're independent'. Good luck with your NHS and your benefits, guys, sorry about using the oil'. Not being serious but it's just such a bore listening to the SNP.
"... by any measure." ???

'During the period of austerity that followed the 2008 economic crash, the Department of Health and Social Care budget continued to grow but at a slower pace than in previous years. Budgets rose by 1.4 per cent each year on average (adjusting for inflation) in the 10 years between 2009/10 to 2018/19, compared to the 3.7 per cent average rises since the NHS was established.'

The SAVE LIVES current government mantra (and cash splurge) was brought about by the immediacy and visibility of the death count.

first of all when I read it last night tired - I thought it was referring to the SNIP
