Has she had her teeth and gums checked lately by the vet. She may have some bad teeth or infected gums, just a thought.
Question Author
A while back she did and vet said for age they werent too bad but as i say shes 11 plus in years so she could be a few years older
Have you tried her on Go-Cat Crunchy & Tender? It's got a mix of harder and softer kibbles in it. My feline foursome love it and other cat slaves I've spoken to agree that their feline masters enjoy it too. (My lot always have pouched gravy food, pouched jelly food and Crunchy & Tender available to them. Two of them prefer the pouched stuff, but still eat some of the Crunchy and Tender, whereas the other two always go straight for the Crunchy & Tender first).

If you've not already tried her on Crunchy &Tender, it won't cost you much to do so. Some supermarkets charge a full price of £3.00 to £3.20 for an 800g bag and then keep reducing it to just £2 as a 'special offer' but others seem to be able to hold the price at around £2 all of the time anyway. (It's been £1.99 in B&M for years).

Havent even seen the Go cat one but will defo have a look for it thanks
My cats love the Go-Cat crunchy and tender.
You could try adding a tiny bit of chicken or beef stock to her dry food...whichever one you use.
Do you feed her the same all the time?...boredom?
Question Author
Pastafreak she has had the same dry food for a couple of years at least so maybe it could be boredom but would still like to try her on a softer dry food
Pour some stock over the dry food about 5 minutes before you put it down. It will soften the 'pellets' enough for your pet to eat them. May even rekindle it's interest in the food.
Our cat changes his mind on his food weekly, but as said above she could be struggling with her gums and teeth. Dry food can also lead to kidney problems so mixing it with a wet pouch (gravy/jelly) occasionally may help.
As the vet said her teeth were, "Not too bad" a while back I would be getting them checked again before I did anything else. She's not going to be enjoying any food if her teeth are bad, we all know what agony that can be. Please do consider getting them checked by the vet or the nurse at the surgery Jesmond.
Another go cat tender fan here, my wee feral loves it
The long stick treats are quite chewy and smelly, but our two 14 year old Ragdolls like them.

Yes ive heard only having dry food can lead to problems. Im going to try the Go cat and see how she does then if the same then the vets it is, thanks all
Good answer Jesmond that should make us all happy:-)
Good luck I hope thrives.

Well all ive tried kittu on the Go cat as suggested by others and she is enjoying them but to be sly and as i dont like wastage i am mixing in very small amounts of the ones she seemed to have gone off and the little devil is now eating them now, it could be because old biscuits now smell of new ones so as long as it continues then we are both happy, thanks all
Lots are good, so it depends on what your cat likes!

Ours prefer jelly preparations to gravy ones, YMMV.

Also in general ours like freshly cooked food, and tins of tuna.

We have fed the following over the years (roughly cheapest to most expensive).

Sainsburys own brand grain-free

Felix (normal more popular than AGAIL)

Whiskas (normal and Pure Delight)

Gourmet Gold Double Delight (small tins), more popular than pate.

Gourme Perle - v good standby

Purina One

Encore

Sheba Craft

Schesir (probably online only)

Fish4Cats (v good!)

Applaws (tins or pouches) - some flavours MUCH more popular than others.

Royal Canin - top quality food both wet and dry. The dry Vitality is popular, also the wet Intense Beauty.

Shops- Pets At Home is by far the biggest chain.

We have 6 cats and we show, so we are always trying new manufacturers.
