Will you all stop trying to make an excuse why Bobbs doesn't need to buy a new one? She's fed up with the lockdown and needs something new and shiny to cheer her up! Which one did you go for Bobbs? x

Clean the filter.
Get the man in your life to give you one as a birthday present. I'm told that ladies like those sort of things ;-)

Good job it's not the old poss tub and mangle Chris :0))
We have it really easy now, open a door and turn a dial

Done that bhg
>>> open a door and turn a dial

Nay! I open my front door, get in my car, drive 15 miles and say to the lady in the launderette "I'll pick it up at the same time tomorrow". When I collect it, everything is neatly folded, with all of my socks paired up and vests, underpants, shirts, etc all sorted into separate piles. Now that's what I call really easy ;-)

Thank you , that's really good help Chris
In my experience what you have described is no more than worn brushes in the motor. I have had this a few times in the past and repaired it easily myself for a few pounds.
However 16 is a good innings and a nice shiny new one is always nice.
One of my sons just put new brushes in his machine, £7.

Mrs It's dolly peg and mangle are still going strong after 48 years!
They knew how to build stuff years ago.
My washing machine is 30 years old and still going strong. I replaced the motor brushes 3 years ago, for about £9.

I'm afraid it was the motor that went so got a new one coming this Thursday , till then we will have to be like tramps ;0))
// Not going into spin and door not opening //

Washing machines are easily repairable unless the drum has gone (which this doesn’t sound like the problem).

Haha Barsel, you saw through me huh?
Chris, do your shirts come back ironed or just washed and dried?
I'm looking for somewhere that you can take your clean bedding etc and they iron it, but I don't know if these places would be open at the moment.

I got the Samsung all singing ,all dancing * thingy *
Iron bedding?
Sheesh!
// made grinding noises like it wanted to go but couldn't //
That does sound like the drum.
15 years is a good age for a washing machine. I was very disappointed with my last one. It was a Bosch and expensive and only lasted 5 years :-(
Lovely. Thanks for the BA. Typical of the men telling us it can be fixed! They just don't 'get us' sometimes. :-) x
New domestic appliances are, ''smart,'' and listen to you and send the info to headquarters.
