Just bought a new Sony smart TV that I'm very pleased with. However, when I plug a USB stick in that contains music files all I get is a message saying "No content on this drive". Have tried 2 or 3 different drives but without success. Any ideas anybody ?? Thanks in advance.

Are you music files in a format which the TV can recognise? (Even if they're MP3 files, and your TV is meant to play the MP3 format, it might be that your files were recorded using a codec that's not recognised by the TV).

Thanks for the very prompt answer B.
All the files are mp3 and according to Sony it is a recognised format. Not sure what to try next !!

Are the files in a folder on the drive? If not, put 1 in a folder as a test, or if they are take 1 out of the folder (so that it is at the same level as the folder in the drive.

Have the music files got the .mp3 and the photos .jpg suffixes ?
It might be the folder/file business.

I’ve got a Samsung, and the USB sticks only work if all the files are free. It won’t read a folder.

Also, try clicking on a file. The TV might convert it for you, oddly enough.
