My wife contacted JA about a fault display on our coffee maker - was advised by “an expert” to contact the manufacturer and was charged £30 for that advice!!

Opportunity missed perhaps.. had you signed into Topcashback before paying your fee to Just Answers, you would have got 20% of your fee as cashback .. plus your money refunded !

didn't Chuck leave here because so many other ABers were giving stupid advice? (Might have been somebody else.) On that basis you might be better asking for a private consultation with him.
