i sent my friend a grow you own mushroom kit last year, and he's been delighted with the funghi fun he's had growing enormous mushrooms.
I'd now like to send him something else he could grow quickly and without much fuss indoors and (optional) eat.

Bednobs .. if you don't have a greenhouse or poly tunnel, I would hold off sowing the seeds indoors until the start of March. Don't sow them now or else they will more than likely fail. As for tomato's being difficult to grow .. have a word with my 5 year old Grandson, he done as he was told over the phone during last years lockdown and they had a constant supply over the summer and he was tasked with it being his job to look after them.
The ones I mentioned earlier .. Maskotka are ideal for beginners whether in pots or in the ground. Last year I had 20 of them in the ground. They produced just over 70kg. We froze the lot and are still eating them now.
Just had a look for some we grew earlier .. the Maskotkas are the ones on the left of the picture .. we do grow rather a lot of toms and always have too many.. usualy about 200kgs

If I could only grow two toms ..Maskotka would be the choice for ease of growing. But for taste I have yet to taste anything better than Sweet Aperitif.
Just found another image of the ones that were grown in four containers hanging on the wall.. a bit smaller than the ones grown in the ground, but they taste amazing .. https://ibb.co/8Y4d6zf
