Haha! How funny! I do believe that all of the above are serious and probably quite miffed that in the wake of Brexit the skies above this country haven’t fallen in. Perhaps they can console themselves with the thought that we’re way ahead of Europe on vaccinations against Coronavirus which puts the possession or otherwise of ham sandwiches somewhat into perspective. Cheer up chaps. It’s not so bad after all. :o)

It might have. It would also have left the UK enthralled to much of EU law, adjudicated on by the European Court of Justice. Personally I’d rather just eat my ham sandwich on the ferry before arriving in EUtopia.

Sandwiches are not the only foods to be seized. There are tons of meat rotting away in lorries . Some have been held there for a fortnight.

That is now UK law, Barry. All EU law was subsumed into UK law. The difference now is that (a) we can retain or revoke them at our leisure and (b) if we transgress the country will not be hauled up before the ECJ. I didn't expect all the laws originating from the EU to be scrapped overnight. That would not be practical. What I did expect was for us to be able to select which we'd like to retain and when we'd prefer to ditch the others.
