Just has a call from 07904275939, a recorded voice telling me my national insurance number has been compromised. Told to press a number before they started legal action. Anyone else had this one? I just hung up. Number not known at "Who called me". Bit creepy as the number is very similar to my own

I'm not sure why people are surprised that someone knows their phone number, they're in the phone book after all.
International agreements could be reached between the nation’s concerned, maybe even globally. I won’t hold my breath.
The latest scam seems to be: You have a thank you gift from Boots,Asda,Tesco and others by Email.
I've had messages about my EE bill and as I have had some genuine correspondance with EON I almost fell for it.
//they're in the phone book after all//
Not mine Khandro, hasn't been in the phone book for many years.
maggiebee; I think they have enough though to get on with :0)
scam
I am not sure if it can be compromised

is it ET, war games, or Back to the future where our hero has a computer dial all the land lines and note the number which rings
i get all sorts of scam emails, tv license refund, tax refund, crapquest debt collectors looking for someone with the same name, microsoft...etc etc, all @rap.
The Phone Book? What's that?
Just received one of these phone calls. A disjointed recorded message informing me of fraudulent activity using my N.I number.
At that point, I switched off the phone.
