I'm all for making my feelings know if I think IMO that the government are messing up. But you have to give credit were credit is due. Not so much on AB but on TV/ local radio, for goodness sake stop wasting time discussing if people will go in the middle of the night for a vaccine. The government are trying to explore ALL ways of getting the vaccine out quick, if it proves that most are only turning up, up until 12/1.00am then that is still getting more people vaccinated is it not? I wish the media would stop bashing the idea, and maybe try and promote it more. Give it a ruddy rest media.

Trevor makes a good point. Opening all night might attract the young and fit in due course, but the old and vulnerable aren't going to be that keen on rushing out in the middle of winter.
The Government said the middle of February was their target. If they don’t deliver until some time in April, it will be an own goal.
At the current rate, 3 million vaccinations in 3 weeks, the y will miss their February deadline by miles.
hey, SUnk ... in view of your correct prediction that the British fishing industry would be sold down the river, did you read abotu how it happened?

Sorry about the diversion, teacake
Jno,
The young and the fit are not the priority target at the moment. They are at the end of the queue. The first 13 million doses are for the old and vulnerable.
" Its called advance thinking, for a change by the government."

No, it was the Government claiming that there wasn't much interest in getting a vaccine appointment past 8pm. Literally nobody has said this, the advanced thinking might help them build up an erroneous argument for missing the February target. See we told you your 90yo nana should have gone to the clinic at 2.29am on Sunday. Blooming public ballsing it up again.
jno,

Yes I did.
It is not often that Ministers confess their uselessness.
But we have a Prime Minister who rewards loyalty over competence. So no matter how bad they are, as long as they blindly serve Boris, they have job security.
Exhibit A: Gavin Williamson.
yes, that's why I said "in due course", sunk. All-night-jabbing may make sense in Spring; at the moment I too wonder if there's much point.
“ Anyone who is able and willing, who have got the slightest amount of oil in their lamp,. you really don't have to think about it”

Well, it depends how it’s done.
Sending someone an appointment for the small hours is not necessarily sensible. If the times are used efficiently then great.
All I’m saying is these are not unreasonable queries.
