Sequels That Are Better Than The Originals

i'm just watching shrek on the TV, followed by shrek 2.
Just realized how far superior in every way shrek 2 is. That doesn't happen often. Can you think of any?

I thought Superman II was way better than Superman.

I agree Tigger, especially the "Richard Donner Cut", the original director's cut that was released in the early 2000s.

His Justice League companion, has better sequels in my view too, when looking at both Tim Burton's movies "Batman" and "Batman Returns", and Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight".

Not sure if I've seen 2000 director's cut but will look out for it.

For some reason I've never really been into Batman.

I'm not a huge fan of DC comics in general Tigger, I was a Marvel fan from an young age. The same argument could be made with the Toby Maguire Spider-Man films and both sets of X-Men Movies. Spider-Man 2, X2 and Days of Future Past are all superior to their predecessors.

I agree about the Batman sequels with Keaton and Bale, but seriously miscast Affleck in Batman v Superman and Justice league spoils them for me. I also prefer Marvel-verse than DC.
