Its Snow Fun At The Moment!!I

We´re literally snowed under here in Madrid!! there was some snow on thursday but it didnt settle. But yesterday about 10am it started to snow and hasnt stopped yet. As many people in Madrid have never really seen snow, a lot of them are outside playing games and taking photos.
I beleive the city is at a standstill, no public buses, most roads are impassable.

Four dead, unprecedented snowfall, no transport etc. It looks as though the army is doing all it can to assist. The roads will be littered with vehicles, I should imagine. Hope the thaw starts asap, Filomena has brought havoc. Stay safe.

i can´t remember snow being that much of a problem in the uk. But this snowfall we had which started on friday at 10am and continued for 30hours was a little unsettling. Can you imagine walking the surrounding streets of a major city and seeing no cars or buses moving, and all the streets covered with deep snow? Unless there is big thaw we could be stuck indoors for several days. I am one of the lucky ones as ive had experience with snow, but i do believe that most people in Madrid have never seen anything like it. In fact i dont remember snow being this deep in the midlands for example. i own a pair of wellies which are perfect for this. But most people i noticed werent wearing appropiate footwear. Luckily the underground is still running, so thats something.
