Both pretty tricky as words are unusual. Probably worth waiting for some crossing letters.

Definitions are for a bit sticking out of your arm and an old word for handkerchief respectively.

Thanks eagledave.
Had not heard of the 6 letter word for Chum.

For 19a, Is character 6 letters and continued 2?
Since down clues in some case have to be jumbled, difficult to get crossers.
19 - Is a word I haven't seen before, hankir - it starts with 'character' in the theatrical sense (4 letters, the first letter 'r' is extra) + a two word phrase for 'continued' (3,2) around C(old).

Two words never knew before.

I have a few down answers.
The ones in SE corner proved easy to enter.
Others have to be jumbled.
Need hints on 1d, 4d, 7d.

is 34a anagram of first two words?
Hankir, yes for 34- but with a letter removed.

Thanks NAC.
I thought so but the answer does not make sense with "one extends somehow"
1 and 4 Down both get entered normally. 7 D is hidden in the clue, then scrambled. In 1 D the 'butter' is an animal, after a four-letter word for 'succeed in getting'.
Hankir, thanks. In 34 you'll have a noun, a thing, object, that extends, stretches things.
