This is tricky as some of your letters are wrong. Will provide hints

12A - involves anagram of first two words. The I and E are wrong

15 - both letters are wrong. Odd expression in Chambers for being in difficulty.

29 - already answered

2D - the S and U are correct. Definition is at end of word

3 - the N is wrong. Definition is first two words although unusual. Cryptic is more straightforward

6 - the I is wrong. Violent is an anagram indicator

25 - in confusion is an anagram indicator

30 - unusual word for catching slippery characters (in water).

Good luck!

Matakari, glad to hear you're finding this a delight ... if still a bit of a challenge!

15 Your letters are wrong.
2 Two of your letters are still wrong
6 Your I is wrong.

I'll try to come up with some hints...
Question Author
Thanks, aelmpvw, for the hints which I'm working on.
Looking forward to your hints, NACW. Many thanks in
advance!
Matakari, while I was typing Eagledave provided lots of good hints - I hope those were enough?
Question Author
Just a verification for the following, thanks:
ACROSS:
12 Be woman undone, and, according to bard, conceive child (6):
ENWOMB
15 In difficulties, to windward at submerged ridge of rock (7, three words): UP A TREE
19 Following a sound of disapproval I finally wrecked drainage channel tide gate (8) : ABOLITEAU
24 Hindu philosopher welcoming hospital letter long ago (4):
YOGI
DOWN:
2 Seizes unwrapped gun, it's for proceedings in courts (8):
LAWSUITS
Happy New Year.

Yes, apart from 19 and 24.

19 - A + 'B[o]O'= 'sound of disapproval' [with the 'o' extra] + I+D + the (last 3 letters) drainage channel you've already got.
24 - the 'i' of YOG[i] is extra, add H(ospital) for the def (an old letter).

Thanks, ProfessorMaisie, I get it! I'll press on and be back
if I need prompting again!
Aww, a shame, Matakari - I thought your 'just a verification..' meant you'd carried on enjoying and solving this one and had got it finished! If so, I was going to point you towards some earlier Chalicea puzzles.
Question Author
I still have a few that are eluding me, but I'll keep persevering,
NACW. I'll take you up on your offer when I get through this one. It would certainly give great practice. Thanks again!
