What Are Rules For?

I know it's against the rules to ask why certain questions are taken down, but it does puzzle me sometimes.

My thread 'Definitions', pondering the manner of lazy insults, where ABers call each other fascists, lefties, misogynists, racists, or whatever, with little regard to the definition of these terms, was taken down with a mere 18 answers.

Seems the whim of the immoderate might have something to do with this.
