I have an amazon firestick, which plugs into the TV with a HDMI socket

it works by my wifi - however my wifi patchy and i wondered if i could use it with an ethernet cable?

i have an adapter which has allowed me to plug the ethernet cable into the TV via the other hdmi slot - but how do i make it actually connect by it?

is it even possible?

is there an app or something? should it just appear in the options screen?

thanks

Make and model of tv?
Your telly will not not be able to make use of a network signal delivered through the HDMI port, and even if it could, your firestick would not be able to connect to it.
Tried various , but Router too far from TV ,Firestick on WiFi (buffering)
connected ethernet to Powerline (buffering) i then gave up lol
But just seen this {Got rooms where you struggle to connect to wi-fi? Complete Wi-Fi brings you a strong connection no matter where you are in your home or, you can claim £100 back.} from BT site
