Two queries from an old unfinished puzzle of 2 years ago :-
1) Review total jazzman not using small piano (7,2) The answer is SUMMING UP which takes care of the definition (review), but could somebody please parse the rest of the clue.

2) Figure where daughter must be parking to see gorge (3,2) P?G ?T The answer is PIG IT having changed the D of DIG IT for a P. My problem is that PIG IT doesn't mean gorge. PIG OUT means gorge, and PIG IT means "to live in squalid or dirty surroundings" - according to Chambers.

Total = SUM
Jazzman = MINGUS, minus S, + P
2 figure = Dig it
The answer is definitely PIG IT, to fit in with the surrounding answers, but I can't really parse it either.

Obviously, pi is a figure...
Yes he got digit to pig it but is there a definition??
The definition is in the OP.
Chambers online has "pig it colloq 1 to eat greedily..."

Thanks, Jim F. I have now learned that Charles Mingus was a US jazz basist, composer and bandleader. So, we get SUM + MING as you explained, but where does the final UP come from in the wordplay?

Thanks, Lie-in King. I don't like it, but at least you've given a valid reference.
You had it: MINGUS minus S
Yes Jim but the OP had said it was'nt the right definition but lionking has since found one that supports pig it so alls ok now
