It's my daughter's 21st next December and I always had the intention of taking her to NY. I've had a look at the prices and they are incredibly reasonable, so I'm sitting here wondering if it's worth the punt and booking.

If this year's taught me anything, it's to not get too optimistic, but if the vaccine becomes more widely available then the prices will likely shoot up.

First world problems, eh?

Booking a year in advance is a bit of a gamble.Who knows what the situation may be in a year's time.
Question Author
Precisely. £500 - £600 each though...
If you book now and God forbid you can't go because of covid and the airlines cancel you will get refunded or can rebook. I already have 2 holidays booked and paid for in 2021. One needs something to look forward to.
Question Author
I'm more worried about the airline still flying and refusing to give refunds, like they're doing at the moment.
Go off it Rocky, I'm with Prudie, I've got a holiday booked for 2021
I hope you've chosen the airline well.
Question Author
But I agree. Definitely need something to look forward to.
If they are still flying what's the problem?
Question Author
'I hope you've chosen the airline well.'

I doubt any are suitably buoyant at the moment.

Lockdowns etc. At the moment peeps in tier 4 can't go away, flights are still going and I don't believe refunds are forthcoming.
Rocky who would you be flying with?
I thought Trump had stopped all UK incoming flights just now Rocky?

It's not til next Dec, Bobs. I priced with BA
I flew with them to NY and wasn't that impressed with them , but I'd say book now if the price is good , a years time anything could happen, who knows?
Sometimes we just have to take a chance - go for it rocky!

BA are not what they used to be, that’s for sure. I’d rather go with American but they don’t do packages which is an absolute must if I do book it.
If this year has taught me anything, it’s to just do it.
It will give you something to look forward to. I’ve just booked a holiday for January 2022 with my fingers crossed.
I dare say you could book flight and hotel separately but that's taking a chance I suppose , look at the Milford Plaza hotel, very central, located at the bottom of Broadway within a few minutes distance to Time Square, both time for us have been in December , take plenty of warm clothing, it gets bitterly cold Rocky
I would go for a BA package personally.

When I go to European cities I usually do easyJet packages. I've got Copenhagen and Prague booked for this coming year with easyJet but I'll be amazed if they actually go ahead.

Thanks all.

Very nearly booked it, then Mr RR asked when daughter would be home for Christmas from Spain (she'll be there for a year from Sept). It completely slipped my mind. I won't be able to book anything until I know what her plans and responsibilities are.
