It's obviously the only solution, and with the vaccine on it's way we can see an end to it.

But no, unlike Churchill in our previous major crisis who gave it to us as it was (nothing but blood sweat and tears) Boris pussyfoots around trying to maintain the "jolly good fellow" image which got so many mugs to vote for him last year, and doesn't have the balls to clamp down on the super spreaders.

And of course it gives him a handy "cop out" when Brexit brings the country to its knees.

What more lockdown is needed beyond tier 3/4? Close all shops except supermarkets. Or maybe them as well? Schools and unis are allready shut for at least 2-3 weeks 'tho a can see case for extending that to 4 weeks. Household visits are allready our but are still happening so maybe we after have police on every street.
Extend tier 3 and maybe even tier 4 to everywhere yes, but would it really make much diffrence now unless we had curfews and you needed a pass to go shopping at a set time. Many were uset when pubs shut at 10 and golf courses were shut so curfews wouldnt be accepted
Errr who you calling a mug???
Before someone else misunderstands me and thinks am recommending curfews ect, a meant to include ????s at the end of the sentances in first paragraph. Am asking canary to specify what he means by bringing in lockdown down
super spreaders could well be kids. ask NJ about that one.
One can 'lockdown' until the cows come home but it's just more of the same with the inevitable outcome.
It's just creating waves of despair.
There had better not be another lockdown before Christmas, it's looking forward to Christmas Day that's keeping me going just now (I'm in the north). I suspect there will be one very soon though.

I wouldn't be in his shoes for all the money in the world.

I, too, am a little puzzled. At least 18m people in England are already in "lockdown" (Tier 4). Large numbers of the rest are subject to Tier 3 regulations. I know it's unusual for you to return to questions that you post but perhaps you could make an exception this time What exactly are you proposing?
Lockdowns don’t work. Yes, it slows it down - temporarily. That’s about it.
if I thought that a hard lockdown (ie tier 4 plus even more things like curfews etc) would work I’d be all for it. I also am not sure the vaccine is gonna be the panacea people think it will be
