We can tie it in with this if you want to, emmie. Mr Johnson was the man who did not want to cancel Christmas. And now he's had to. He is also the man who does not want to be seen as the one to walk away from the EU without a deal. Well his prevarication has caused enormous problems for business and now, just ten days away from the end of the transition period, he will still not say to the EU "Enough's enough. We need to get on."

His Tier 4 rules will be ignored by many simply because they've made their Christmas arrangements and can't be fannied about by a Prime Minister who will not make a decision and stick by it.

Not past tense Emmie - I haven't been to my nearest supermarket (Tier 2 and 2 miles away) since Boris's announcement yesterday. I shall go after the Xmas break though as I refuse to drive 10 miles in order to remain in Tier 4 when we're asked to limit travel. Boris can't have it all ways.
