And I believe the ‘reverse Stonehenge’ theory - that if you stand in the stones on the Winter Solstice and face the ‘other’ way, you can celebrate the turning of the year, the moment when the world gets lighter!

jno my Gdaughter was due to have a home birth, all set up and then trouble hit and she was rushed in for a C-section. All well and very happy now but no idea when I will meet her. Does your DiL live neat you? Mine doesn't.

I don't mind the dark nights lb. It's nice and cosy inside by the fire with my lovely dog and something tasty for tea ! Don't mind winter, time goes by quickly enough as it is.

The two planets were just above the horizon to the west when I checked about half an hour ago, unfortunately it's quite cloudy here, Norfolk, so don't know if they'll be visible.

Planets visible now, one is very small but it can be seen with the naked eye.
