Has anyone been for an eye test lately? If so, did you still have to wear a mask/face covering? I’ve been told (Boots Opticians) I’d have to, but know my glasses steam up when wearing a mask so the test wouldn’t give a true result (or I’d have to keep wiping everything down every few seconds). I did mention this but was pretty much told tough luck! Just wondered if all opticians were the same?

In Boots they still use the frames where you slot the lenses into (which I prefer). Have tried many masks and the washing up liquid on specs etc but still steam up. Very annoying in shops (sorry everyone who has to go round me while I wipe them lol) but prob even more so if this happens during actual eye test. I may try asking a few local opticians what their procedures are. Otherwise I’ll have to stick to scratched and tired glasses for a good while yet, boo hoo!
I had my eyes tested in specsavers in july.I chose to wear a mask although i was told i didn't have to.Like alot of people the steaming up was driving me crazy. Then i thought i would try a strip of double sided tape behind the top of the mask and the press it around my nose and under the eyes to form a seal and that has worked well.I wear the disposable masks so they are very breathable but you need to use a good quality tape otherwise it comes off, worth a try at least.
